About Us

Why Full Circle Cats?

After ten years as Feral Change, we are ready for our own change. From our beginnings as a group of volunteers doing trap-neuter-return in West Oakland, we have grown dramatically in the past few years and are launching into our next chapter. Full Circle Cats reflects where we are now and where we are headed.

Full Circle is about stopping the cycle. The core of all cat rescue comes down to spay/neuter to end the overpopulation crisis. It is at the heart of our mission. There will never be enough resources and homes for all the cats born on the street unless we take action and prevent it from happening in the first place.

Full Circle is about evaluating every situation. Working out in the community is never just about scooping up kittens. Taking a holistic approach means spaying and neutering, providing medical care, finding paths to adoption, connecting to resources, or all of the above. No two situations are the same and we take them case by case to try to find the best outcome.

Full Circle is about caring for cats at every stage. From bottle feeding the most vulnerable newborns to providing hospice care for cats that are ready for a retirement off the streets, we are there for them.

Full Circle is about tackling the big picture. We don’t shy away from challenges in our community and in animal welfare. We gather data and information about the cats, the colonies, and our operations in order to make the best decisions and the greatest impact.

Full Circle is about building community. This means working together, spreading awareness and education, and approaching everyone with compassion and understanding. We’re all on the same team. Let’s learn and grow together.

We believe in improving the lives of cats and the communities that care for them through spay/neuter, adoption, and education.

Foster Program

Our foster program brings in cats and kittens in need from around the East Bay, especially those with nowhere else to go. This could be because other rescues and shelters are full or because the cat or kitten would not thrive in a shelter environment due to medical needs or temperament.

Feral Change Program

Our Feral Change program, an homage to our TNR roots, connects community members to spay/neuter appointments, sponsors spay/neuter clinics, provides medical care for unowned cats, lends traps and other equipment, and coordinates trapping projects.

Education Program

Our education program leads workshops around the San Francisco Bay Area on topics such as caring for bottle babies, beginning TNR (trap-neuter-return), and advanced TNR. We also have online resources and a help email to support folks who want to assist the cats in their neighborhood.
